Thursday night football starts this week with an interesting match up of two teams who had high hopes at the beginning of the season but have not lived up to the hype. The Bears are struggling of late losing the last 3 of 4 games with the only win coming against the lowly Browns. Chicago isn’t going to win the division because the Vikings are just too good but they are still in the running for a wildcard playoff spot.
The 49ers are in a somewhat different situation. They sit in the weakest division in football and are two games out of first place behind the unpredictable Cardinals. However, no wildcard team will come out of the NFC West. San Francisco was picked by many to do well this season but have lost the last three games by 7 points or less. Coach Singletary has come undone a couple times but has not dropped his pants like last season so the team must still be in the running.
Beyond the Mike Singletary coaching against his old team narrative we have had the pleasure of hearing about for the last few days, there are many real questions about this matchup. Will the Bears defense finally play well against the run? Is Frank Gore going to go off for a huge day? Which Cutler will show up in San Fran? Finally, who will end up on top and who will be one loss closer to missing the post season?
Because of the Thursday game, you get our picks for this one a little earlier than usual.
49ers -3 at home against the Bears:
Chad: Bears
Ian: 49ers
Kristian: 49ers

So happy the 49ers won and I have a positive weekly record at least for a few days now.
