Let’s start by taking a look at week one and see how the players I highlighted ended up performing, my no.1 pick at running back saw plenty of the ball, as the Vikings tried to protect Brett Favre, putting the leather in the safe hands of Adrian Peterson.
I had Drew Brees at QB, and that pick was right, right, right throwing six touchdowns, 358 yards and just one INT for a QB rating of 137. I can’t stay away from AP, he is the best player in the gane right now, everyone knows it, and he is my RB for week 2.

My tight ends picks for week one didn’t really do the business, Tony Gonzalez the only one getting a TD, John Carlson was the standout, albeit against the Rams, scoring two TDs and receiving for 95 yards, it looks like it wouldn’t be a bad philosophy to pick any player who is up against the Rams each week. Chris Cooley of the Redskins is therefore my TE pick this week, we’ll find out if St Louis try to cover that route this week or not.

At wide receiver, Reggie Wayne has the biggest numbers with 162 yards and TD, my three picks went for a combined 242 yards and two TDs. This week I would pick Reggie Wayne at the Dolphins and pair him with QB Peyton Manning, Miami have a strong run defence, Indy are without WR Anthony Gonzalez, but Manning still has plenty of options (including Wayne) and I can see him going to the air a lot in this one. In Dallas Romo is likely to play injured, the Raven’s Joe Flacco is likely to throw less this week against the Chargers, than in week one. Other standout QB’s Drew Brees facing the Eagles and Brady at the Jets, have tougher match-ups, so it is Peyton Manning who I would name as my QB starter this week.
When the Dallas Cowboys open their new stadium on Sunday Tony Romo is likely to play with an injured ankle against the Giants, Philly quarter-back Donovan McNabb, looks likely to miss the Eagles game against the NO Saints with a cracked rib, even if he was to play, he is likely to be pulled early, so I wouldn’t go with him.
Fantasy owners with T.J. Houshmandzadeh in their team, should be aware he missed practice for a second straight day with back spasms on Thursday and is listed as doubtful on the team’s practice report, look to see Deion Branch suit up instead as he recovers from a tweaked hamstring.
