Cardinals and Packers Meet for Round 2

Packers Cardinals FootballJust a few day ago the Arizona Cardinals were on the wrong end of a 33-7 beat down. The game didn’t mean much to either team and QB Kurt Warner sat out after only 6 passes but the poor performance didn’t instill much confidence in last year’s NFC champions. To make matters worse the Cards saw Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie go down with a knee injury making their secondary more of a question mark as they welcome QB Aaron Rodgers back to town for a second week in a row.

Same story, different season.

One year ago everyone outside of the state of Arizona thought the Cardinals would be 1 and done after backing into the playoffs. A year later following a Super Bowl appearance we know the team is dangerous but its hard to predict which Arizona team will show up on Sunday. Will it be the Cardinals club that is capable of beating good teams or will it be the one that loses to teams they are supposed to beat?

On the other side of the field the Packers could be the most intriguing team in the NFC this playoff season. They have a high powered pass attack, the league’s 2nd ranked defense, and quietly picked up momentum in the shadow of their division rivals. Imagine how big the Brett Farve v. Packers storyline will be in the playoffs; almost unbearable.

With offense on both sides of the ball this time around it should be a fun one to watch. I like the QB with protection and minimal turnovers to take this one. Odds are, that will be Aaron Rodgers.
