The two teams for the NFL’s 2010 International Series, to be played at Wembley Stadium in the UK will be the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos. The Broncos will be hosted by the 49ers as one of their 2010 regular season home games. The game will kick off at 10am PST so it will be an early morning home game for 49ers fans on the West Coast.

49ers President and CEO Jed York said of the game when it was announced:
“The 49ers organisation is excited to be part of the NFL’s 2010 international schedule, London is a wonderful venue for two of the most storied franchises in NFL history to square off. The international games have been so well received in recent years that it will surely be an exciting experience for our players, coaches, staff and fans. We support the league’s initiative to bring NFL games to the international stage, and are looking forward to playing in front of our fans in England.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said of the game which will feature two of the NFL’s most successful franchises (seven super bowl wins between them and they competed for Super Bowl XXIV):
“For the past three years we have seen the extraordinary passion that exists for NFL football in the UK. We want to continue to build on that passion by strengthening our ties to our existing UK fans and creating new ones.”
The NFL are said to be working at trying to bring a second International Series game to the UK in 2010.
